"You HAVE to see this adorable puppy video!"

Do you have a role model or someone who inspires you?

For inspiration in design, I definitely look up to Jessica Hische, a custom letterer, illustrator, and type designer. She is known for her personal projects, such as “Daily Drop Cap”, which I plan on trying out myself! I also always have her book “In Progress: See Inside a Lettering Artist’s Sketchbook and Process from Pencil to Vector” next to me for quick inspiration and ideas at home.

Why are you passionate about what you do?

I get to create new things every day, and when I come to work, it doesn’t feel like a “job”! I have always been a creative person, and have been creating art for as long as I can remember. Every day, I get the opportunity to combine problem solving and creativity to find a solution. To top it off, it makes me so happy when clients are in love with the work we create for them.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Originally, I had dreamed of being a veterinarian, only to realize I hated the sight of blood! Instead, my 7-year-old self wanted to be a marine biologist, in the hopes I could swim with dolphins in the wild! In grade 5, my art teacher had suggested I look into design as a career path, but only after high school did I really consider it. Now, I’m so glad I did – though swimming with dolphins is still on my bucket list!
