What are the top skills you use in your position (problem solving, etc)?

Expanding beyond web development into design, photography, and video has helped me to understand how all the pieces of the puzzle work together, as well as sharpening my eye for detail and visual style. Combining these skills from different parts of the industry with the analytical side of web development, along with a strong customer service background from freelancing, allows me to understand a project from all angles and find the best course of action to complete it

What do you get up to when you’re not working?

Enjoying the West Coast lifestyle. I moved to Nanaimo from Toronto a little over a year ago to transition my career from photography & graphic design to front end web development. Vancouver Island was the perfect fit me. When I’m not deep into the world of design & technology, I like to check out the best hiking spots around BC, listen to local music, discover the very best in local craft beer, and add to my photography portfolio.

Why do you enjoy being a part of this industry?

I love how this industry always keeps me on my toes. As technology is always advancing and changing, there is always something new to learn, or a new & improved way to come to a solution. I’ve been a tech nerd for as long as I can remember, and immersing myself in the tech industry still gets me excited every day.
